With summer fast approaching, you might be looking for somewhere special to get a tan or go for a swim. Our advice? Check out an Alberta Beach!

Contrary to popular belief, Wild Rose Country has a ton of ’em and while you won’t be able to lounge under the shade of a palm tree, there’s plenty of sand, sun and fun to be had without getting on a plane.

Not sure where to go? Pack your cooler, a bathing suit and a hat, then head to Lake Annette in Jasper National Park!

With turquoise water, cooking shelters, metal fire rings and (most importantly) a soft sand beach perfect for pretending you’re elsewhere, this Alberta beach is the ultimate summer’s day bucket list item.

In addition to this, Lake Annette also has 2.4 km of paved trail around the shore and a playground for the littles.

If of course, during your visit you feel antsy, Lake Edith (another fantastic spot) is just down the road, meaning that you’re in for double the amount of fun.

Want to check it out? Maybe we’ll see you there! It’s going to be a long, hot summer and there’s no better place to cool off. Enjoy!
