There’s a new Peruvian restaurant coming to Seattle & here’s where

Calling all foodies, it’s time to try something new! A new Peruvian restaurant is coming to Seattle and the menu is enough to make your mouth water.

La Mar will be opening a new location in Bellevue this month, and it’s bringing all the vibrant Peruvian flavors!

Created by acclaimed Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio, La Mar is a celebration of the traditional Peruvian cebichería, set within a casual yet upscale atmosphere.

“With the opening of La Mar in Bellevue, we look forward to continuing our mission of uplifting Peruvian cuisine on the world’s gastronomic stage,” says Acurio. “This is our first restaurant in the Pacific Northwest, and, like Peru, this region has a wonderful biodiversity of ingredients — from the sea to the mountains — and a culture of culinary curiosity. We know many will discover a love of Peruvian food after dining at La Mar.”

The new dining spot opens its doors on Monday, October 14th in the heart of downtown Bellevue, and here’s everything you need to know.

Food

La Mar is all about celebrating the diverse flavors of the sea and Peruvian gastronomy.

The Bellevue menu will feature classic Peruvian dishes such as cebiches (citrus-based marinated raw fish) and tiraditos (thinly sliced seafood), causas (potato-based dishes), and grilled anticuchos (skewers of marinated meat, a homage to Peruvian street food).

Menu items are served from La Mar’s trademark cebiche bar or cooked in a charcoal-fired oven.

“As a third-generation Nikkei [Peruvian of Japanese heritage], I look forward to sharing the exceptional diversity of my country’s traditional cuisine, which has been shaped by Incan, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese traditions over many centuries,” says Kaoru Chang, executive chef of La Mar Bellevue.

“La Mar’s menu will reflect the global influence and melting pot of flavors in Peru, while also incorporating elements of the bounty found right here in the Pacific Northwest.”

Drinks

The beverage menu will include local beer and wine, as well as an extensive list of unique craft cocktails.

Drinks will highlight both local and Peruvian ingredients, with a special focus on Pisco, the signature spirit of Peru. Try out one of the Pisco Sours, or the Rainier Sour that was specifically created for La Mar Bellevue.

Event Space

From a lively bar and lounge area to the multi-tiered dining room that overlooks the open-air kitchen. There’s plenty of space to enjoy a delicious meal with friends. You can even book La Mar’s private dining room for gatherings or corporate events.

Who’s hungry for Peruvian food? Make sure you make a reservation!
