This dreamy Ontario skating trail winds around towering birch trees

Winter weather is in full swing in Ontario and that means one thing – skating. Rinks and trails all over the province await, but this one is particularly beautiful. Nina’s Way is a 1.3 km skating path that winds through Kivi Park in Sudbury, Ontario, surrounded by stunning birch trees.
The park also has a cozy outdoor fireplace and a cafe where you can grab some post-skating snacks, too. You in?
Getting to Kivi Park
Described as “the perfect destination for year-round outdoor adventure and recreation,” Kivi Park is located on the south end of Sudbury, Ontario.
If you’re driving from the Toronto area you can expect the trip to take you four hours. To enter the park you’ll need to purchase a day pass, which starts at $10 per adult. If you’re heading over with the family, grab the group day pass which is valid for a one-day period, covering two adults and up to three youth. Children under six are free.
Skating at Nina’s Way
Get those skates sharpened! Nina’s Way is one of the many winter experiences you can access at Kivi Park, a 1.3 skating trail perfect for family outings or date nights.
Nina’s Way is open daily in the winter 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. It is advised that anyone planning on checking out the skating trail takes a look at the path’s conditions before heading over.
Be sure to bring your own skates as rentals are not available.
According to Kivi Park, the path is “fully equipped with LED lights for twinkling evening skates and music playing,” talk about dreamy!

Once you’re done skating, it’s time to hit up the outdoor lounge. The lounge has a picture-perfect outdoor fireplace with Muskoka loungers, aka the ultimate post-skate spot. Kivi Cafe is also in the park, serving up snacks and warm drinks to sip by the fire!
If you’re up for even more winter adventuring, Kivi Park’s 18 km hiking trail network and 21.2 km skiing trail network are both considered “world-class.”
