This Ontario town has festive train rides, skating & dazzling light displays during the holidays

Santa is heading south this winter! Southern Ontario, that is. Kingsville, Ontario is the place to be during the holiday season as the town transforms into a wonderland with no shortage of festivities. From a Christmas Artisan market to stunning park light displays, you’ll want to make a stop here ASAP.

Getting there

Kingsville, Ontario is around four hours by car from Toronto nestled along Lake Erie. Fun fact, the area is considered Canada’s southernmost town!

There are holiday attractions all over town so all you need to do is get yourself to the area and pick which festivities to enjoy first.

What to do this holiday season in Kingsville, Ontario

Up first is the Christmas Artisan Market at Lakeside Park.

The market will be open on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Local vendors will be selling all kinds of goodies including handmade gifts, food, and jewelry.

Also happening at Lakeside Park is the Fantasy of Lights. You’ll need to wait until the sun goes down but once it does, you’ll be treated to hundreds of Christmas lights in the form of stunning displays. The park is completely illuminated and is free to roam all December long.

If you’re bringing the family along, be sure to take a ride on the Kingsville Express.

Train rides run from November 22, 2024, to December 22, 202,4 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Lakeside Park.

The Kingsville Express will travel around and show off all the light displays and you can do so while you sip hot chocolate. Train rides cost $2 per person, $5 per family of four, or a donation.

There will be free skating with hot chocolate at Kingsville Arena on New Year’s Eve from 4:30 PM to 6:50 PM with a 7:00 PM fireworks launch to celebrate a Happy New Year and closing of Fantasy of Lights.
