The Epping-John Muir Lookout Conservation Area is one such spot, offering dramatic vistas that stretch from Georgian Bay to the heart of Beaver Valley. According to Visit Grey, visitors can also explore a historical plaque dedicated to the famed American naturalist John Muir, making it a perfect place for both nature and history lovers.
The site is equipped with picnic shelters, privies, and ample parking space that can even accommodate buses.
For those seeking a more rugged adventure, the Old Baldy Scenic Lookout is a must-visit.
It is situated just outside of Kimberley off Grey County Road 13. This lookout requires a 15-minute walk through peaceful woods to reach the edge of the Niagara Escarpment.
At 152 metres above Beaver Valley, the view is nothing short of breathtaking.
According to Visit Grey, the site has limited facilities but its natural beauty more than compensates, especially for those trekking the Bruce Trail. It is marked by white trail blazes as the path becomes steeper and more challenging.
Another highlight of Kimberley is the Webwood Falls Nature Reserve, where two small streams converge and cascade over the Escarpment, forming a spectacular waterfall.
The stream then winds through a deep, forested river valley, offering visitors a tranquil spot to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area.
