Rude and sassy: An immersive ‘Karen’ popup diner is opening in Calgary next week

Feeling spicy? Next week, those with a sharp sense of humour can grab a bite at Karen’s Diner in Calgary, where the burgers are great and the staff is an absolute nightmare.

Bought to life by the company behind spring 2022’s Alice experience, this unique event is unlike anything we’ve seen before and it kicks off

Described as an immersive eatery, Karen’s Diner will serve burgers, loaded fries, sweet treats, thick shakes, themed cocktails – and a whole lot of sass dished by actors and actresses who will play saucy diner employees.

“Don’t expect special treatment at this diner because it’s all about Karen, and she won’t be taking any of your nonsense!” Hidden wrote in a press release.

“Come have some fun and wind the staff up to unleash your inner Karen and see their full Karen potential,” they continued, which means, of course, you too can participate as long as you’re not hurtful.

While some cheeky comments are okay, offensive speech will not be tolerated – so please keep it light-hearted.

Karen’s Diner is still meant to be fun and there will be limits to what you can and cannot say, as outlined here – though we trust that you’ll all be respectful.

If you’re interested, tickets are available now – though they have yet to release an address. It’s going to be an unusual time, so get ready – especially if you’re name is ACTUALLY Karen.

According to their official website, you could get a FREE drink if you’re willing to show them your ID – though we can’t imagine they’ll be very happy about that.
