Alberta’s tallest waterfall is hidden in this wildly scenic park

From peaks and valleys to golden fields, towering trees and showstopping cascades, there’s plenty to see from coast to coast but few sights will take your breath away like Kakwa Falls, Alberta.

Location

Located approximately two hours southwest of Grande Prairie, this 30-metre plunge near the BC border is widely considered the tallest waterfall in the province.

With lakes and creeks, flowers, and mountain views, various animals including caribou to grizzly bears, call Kakwa Wildland Provincial Park home.

In addition, admirers will find a diversity of plants throughout—though we’d recommend bringing equipment to help you navigate.
