Sit down and close your eyes – feel the serenity and sounds of rushing water that is of Jones Falls, a hidden cascade in Ontario. Part of Pottawatomi Conservation Area, here’s what to know about Jones Falls and why you should add it to your bucket list.
Located minutes away from Owen Sound, you’ll find Pottawatomi & Jones Falls Conservation Area, a 293-acre land that is home to several trails and a gorgeous view of the waterfall.

According to Ontario Conservation Areas, this spot is a “must-see for geology lovers with its unique views of the Niagara Escarpment that was formed millions of years ago.”
Though there are a few recreational activities, the showstopper is the falls. In order to access them, you must embark on a short hike. According to Grey County, it’s a one-kilometre walking trail that leads through the Pottawatomi Conservation Area to the falls.
It’s important to stay on the trail and use caution around the high cliffs and steep areas.
There is a lookout spot where you can watch the rushing cascades in all its glory.
There is a parking lot at Jones Falls & Pottawatomi Conservation Area which may require a payment. Besides that, you’re set to explore the area at your leisure.
If you can’t make it this summer, no worries! This spot is also great in the fall.
