Canada has a whole lot to offer, but the Rocky Mountains are an extra special treat, especially when there’s sun in the sky. Here, visitors can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, and make a splash in some of the most beautiful swimming holes across Alberta—like Johnson Lake.

After all, not every pond is suitable for a game of mermaids!

Located in Banff National Park, this incredible spot is nestled among some of the oldest Douglas fir trees in Alberta.

It’s serene, crystal clear and, suitable for those who want to float a day away.

While it will still be cooler than your favourite public pool, Johnson Lake is actually one of the warmest lakes in the Canadian Rockies, according to Banff Lake Louise.

Unlike so many others in the area, this crystal clear destination is not fed by a glacier and offers a comfortable experience.

What’s more, if you’d like to make the most of your day, there are several hiking trails and paths all around it.

From wildflowers to ancient hoodoos, and a century-old mountain cabin, there’s so much to see and do, so plan to spend a whole day!

You’re in for plenty of sun and fun, as long as the weather cooperates.

Happy diving and enjoy!
