The world’s largest astronomy park is a magical escape nestled in the Alberta mountains

Need a little magic to get you through the colder months? Hidden deep in the Alberta Rocky Mountains, you’ll find The Jasper Planetarium, an enchanting destination that is truly out of this world.

A window into galaxies far, far away, explorers are encouraged to visit the largest astronomy park in the entire world, which hosts everything from tours to festivals.

What you’ll experience at the Jasper Planetarium

Removed from city lights and protected by bylaws and local rules, the Jasper Planetarium has worked closely with Parks Canada to create something incredible.

Here, at the observatory, which is also located in the world’s largest accessible dark sky preserve, visitors can make a wish, learn something new, and see the Milky Way like never before.

Want to check out everything they have to offer?

Kick things off in their dome theatre for a presentation that will take you on a journey through constellations and cosmic history.

This show is immersive and will make you feel as though you’ve travelled lightyears from star to star.

Once you’ve taken it all in, head outside for their telescope experience featuring one of the largest telescopes in the Rockies.

In high definition, you’ll see the moon, planets, and if you’re lucky, the northern lights.

Sound like something you’d be interested in?

You can book your experience now, but please be mindful while in the area.

While Jasper is now open to the public, there are many sites that are still in the process of rebuilding.

For a map of these areas or if you have any questions you can visit their website.

Enjoy and happy exploring!
