Japanese chain AFURI ramen + dumpling is launching its first Toronto location next month and they’re celebrating its grand opening with giveaways. Here’s what to know about the exciting new spot.

The exciting chain is gearing up to open its first Toronto location right in the heart of the Church-Yonge corridor. Grand opening celebrations will begin on July 2nd and 3rd and in honour of the occasion, AFURI will be offering 100 FREE fresh-squeezed Yuzu Limeades those days.

The over 3,500 square foot restaurant will have a first-of-its-kind open-concept kitchen, and claims it will be “one of the largest ramen houses in Toronto that makes fresh ramen noodles and dumplings in-house everyday.”

The prestigious restaurant chain was first founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 2001 and has then grown across the globe with locations in Portugal, Portland, Los Angeles, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vancouver, Richmond, New York, Houston, and now Toronto.

“It is our dream to bring fine Japanese ramen to the world. We believe sharing ramen is a meaningful way to achieve a continuity of culture and connection in our everyday lives. To this day, there are still Japanese restaurants in the world serving instant noodles or ramen without proper process, because they don’t have someone to share the craft of ramen with them,” said Taichi Ishizuki, CEO of AFURI.

“Founder Hiroto and I teamed up so we could share the craft and culture of fine ramen with the world. We believe that our attention to detail and exceptional quality of ingredients, sourced locally and internationally will be a hit with Torontonians.”

The restaurant chain prides itself in its “no MSG” policy, and only uses the finest, freshest, and highest-quality ingredients. Their noodles are made in-house through a two to three-hour process using wheat flour sourced from Japan.

They serve dishes like Yuzu Shio Ramen and Yuzu Tsuyu Tsukemen.

Along with their ramen creations, AFURI offers made-to-order dumplings like Buta Gyozas. AFURI also offers small shareable plates like Watermelon Salad, Tori Karaage, and more.

Check out what they have to offer starting this July. Who knows, maybe it’ll be your new go-to spot?

Anyway, welcome to Toronto!
