Get ready folks because Washington has been ranked yet again. And this time it’s honestly pretty impressive. Because WalletHub took the time to rank the state economies most affected by Coronavirus. And it turns out we were the least exposed. Who would’ve thought?

Now we know that everyone has experienced the pandemic differently. And we were certainly surprised when we saw this ranking because Washington was one of the first states to be majorly affected by the pandemic. But WalletHub used 13 unique metrics to determine this information and at this point we trust them.

When it comes to Washington our economy was the least exposed to Coronavirus. But when it came to GDP generated by highly affected industries as a share of total state GDP we came in 42nd. And as for share of employment from highly affected industries, we came in 15th. So while we have done quite well compared to a lot of other states, we certainly weren’t unscathed.

If you’d like to see all of the data from WalletHub’s newest ranking you can click here. There’s a lot to unpack, especially when it comes to affected industries so we hope you take the time to look into it. For now, we can all continue to support our state by wearing masks, social distancing, and washing our hands!
