A Toronto neighbourhood will be taken over by giant inflatable creatures this week

It’s not every day that a neighbourhood is taken over by 15-foot unicorns, but that’s exactly what’s happening in the city this week. An inflatable display is coming to Toronto’s east end and it’ll make for quite the photo op.

Nearly 50 homes will be decorated with 15-foot-tall unicorns and flamingos, 11-foot dinosaurs, 4-foot cows, floaties including palm trees, pineapples, rainbows, fluorescent pinwheels, and garden gnomes.

The homes are located on Bastedo Ave at Danforth and Coxwell, from Bastedo Ave to Hanson St.

The display is part of The Canadian Tire Summer of the Century Celebration, in honour of the company’s 100th birthday.

In addition to exploring the inflatable displays, visitors will also get to enjoy some free entertainment like live music and chalk art, as well as summer treats and giveaways.

The event kicks off on June 30 and will run until July 3, and you’ll be able to check out the displays from sun up to sundown for the whole long weekend.

All of the floaties and decor will either be repurposed or donated to the residents, so they’ll be put to good use after the celebration ends.

If you’re looking for something fun to do for free this Canada Day, you won’t find anything more unique than this inflatable neighbourhood.
