This magical Ontario forest trail is lit up with thousands of twinkling lights

Ken Reid Conservation Area in Ontario is home to a dazzling forest trail adorned with thousands of twinkling lights.

It’ll take you more than an hour and a half drive east of Toronto, near Lindsay, Ontario to find Ken Reid Conservation Area.

Explore its 110-hectare wonderland of forests, meadows, and wetlands. In December, there’s a magical forest experience that will adorn the landscape with over a thousand twinkling lights.

The Illuminated Forest at Ken Reid

Head along a magical journey through The Illuminated Forest which transforms the conservation area into a winter wonderland.

“Thousands of twinkling white lights guide you along the scenic Escarpment Loop, weaving through young forests, towering pine stands, serene hardwood and cedar forests, and open meadows, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of light and natural beauty,” shares the conservation area.

You can enjoy the scenery nightly starting Dec. 7, 2024 to Jan. 3, 2025 from 5 p.m., to 9 p.m.

And the great part about this is that admission into the park is free.

You will have to pay for parking which is $4.

What else is there to do at Ken Reid?

There are nearly 12 kilometres of trails, each offering its own charm. It’s home to two boardwalks that allow you to glide over wetlands while soaking in the beauty of nature.

You can also enjoy the sights from its observation platform which is perfect for quiet winter moments and watching wildlife.
