Channel your inner cowboy with a plate of IHOP’s new Western-inspired pancake tacos

Calling all Calgary foodies – something very special is riding into town!

Calgary’s wildest week of the year is right around the corner, and to celebrate, IHOP® is tossing its hat into the ring with a brand new Western-inspired dish that’s fit for a rodeo star.

Say hello to the new pancake breakfast tacos, available in two irresistible flavours: Country Potroast and Philly Cheesesteak.

Trust us, these aren’t just any old stack of pancakes, IHOP really knows its way around a griddle. The Country Potroast is stuffed with hash browns, shredded cheese, ranch beans, sour cream, and pico de gallo, while the Philly Cheesesteak features Philly beef, peppers, onions, and mushrooms, all lathered in cheese sauce.

This limited-edition menu item will only be available from Friday, July 5, to Sunday, July 14, at various locations across Calgary — so make sure you ride into a local IHOP to taste it before it’s gone with the wind!

Continuing a tasty tradition

The pancake breakfast has long been a tasty tradition for Calgarians during this time of year, and a highlight of the week for many.

Did you know the very first Calgary pancake breakfast dates all the way back to 1923? By the 1950s, the breakfast ritual had spread across the city and it’s been a delicious annual tradition ever since.

Fun fact: In 2023, Calgary became the Guinness World Record title holder for most pancakes served in 8 hours, totaling 17,182. Now that’s a lot of pancakes!
