With snow on the ground and a nip in the air, it’s clear. Winter has returned and in celebration of another snowy season and a new year, we’re lacing it up! As any Albertan knows, there’s nothing better than going for a glide and now that it’s finally cold enough, the Calgary skating trails are the perfect place to do so!

Want to get frosty? The city has two icy destinations for a scenic lap with family, friends or your special someone!

Want to kick things off on the right blade? Check out Bowness Park! Located alongside the beautiful Bow River, this 1.6 km track is finally open to Calgarians, but that’s not all! to the loop itself, guests can also hit their cross-country ski trail, and hockey rink and can Crokicurl

In the South and looking for something truly magical?

Under bright lights and tall trees, North Glenmore’s 730-metre strip can be found on the north end of the reservoir. Open 7 days a week guests are encouraged to bundle up, then head to the rink with a pair of skates.

In addition, Calgarians can also check out the park’s cross-country ski trails, Crokicurl, or their other outdoor skating rink.
