Believe it or not, spring is right around the corner, but we’ve still got several solid weeks left of winter to enjoy and activities to cross off our bucket list, starting with this unique spot north of the city. Tammies Place in Orillia is as Canadian as it gets, with blazing fires and cozy dining cabins to warm up in between drinks at the ice bar.

The fully stocked bar is essentially a giant block of ice decked out in fun multicoloured lights. The bar also features ice crystal tables and seating, as well as fires and heaters to stay warm on frosty winter nights.

Tammies Place is especially magical during a snowfall when the snow globe dining domes are buried under a layer of snowflakes and illuminated by the glow of twinkle lights.

The snow globe dining experience comes with a set menu, with your choice of appetizer, main course, and dessert. They definitely saved the best for last, with a cheesecake platter, funnel cake, and build-your-own s’mores for dessert.

Tammie’s is open every weekend “for as long as Canada stays frosty,” which might not be for much longer if Ontario’s groundhog’s predictions come true.

It’s definitely the season of unique dining experiences here in Ontario. Toronto’s Stackt Market now has a gold double-decker shipping container restaurant serving up gourmet meals and speakeasy-style cocktails, and there are tons of spots around the city that have turned Sunday brunch into an outdoor patio experience.

While we count down the days to warmer weather, this ice bar is worth checking out before it melts!
