The Hudson's Bay Stripes Collection is back for a limited time in Canada

It’s a holiday miracle! After Hudson’s Bay closed its doors for good in the spring of 2025, some of us thought we may never see the iconic striped blankets, pillows, and other cozy items ever again. Well, good news. Canadian Tire is “reintroducing” the brand, launching its first Hudson’s Bay Stripes Collection.
The collection will be available in-store for a limited time, starting on Dec. 5, 2025.
According to Canadian Tire, the collection will include striped holiday ornaments, as well as home and lifestyle pieces, such as espresso sets, bedding, knitwear, and totes.
Canadian Tire acquired Hudson’s Bay Company’s brand assets earlier this year, and this is its first big move since doing so.
“Bringing the Stripes back to Canadians is both an honour and a responsibility,” says Greg Hicks, president and CEO of Canadian Tire Corporation. “Recognizing the enthusiasm and nostalgia Canadians hold for the brand, we are determined to reintroduce it with care. As a first foray, this curated Hudson’s Bay Stripes collection is a reflection of our stewardship.”
So, if you have people on your holiday shopping list who are tough to shop for, maybe hold out until Dec. 5, because these iconic items make amazing gifts.
The Hudson’s Bay point blanket, aka the original striped blanket, first hit the market way back in 1779, with the iconic design sticking with Canadians ever since. Chances are, you’ve seen the white with green, red, yellow and indigo stripes draped along a bed or couch at some point in your lifetime!
The availability of specific items will vary depending on the store, so I suggest scoping out your closest locations before the launch.
Happy holidays and happy shopping, Canada!
