The cat is out of the bag, people. Toronto’s most popular documentary event, Hot Docs Film Festival, just released their full 2021 lineup. Whether you’re a docu-junkie, cinema nerd, or just looking for a little entertainment, this awesome festival is an awesome event to hit.
So the Hot Docs Film Festival will be happening this April 29th through May 9th. Because of the whole COVID-19 situation, the event has opted for a hybrid online/in-person celebration. Most flicks can be streamed through the official platform. But some will have limited seating theatrical releases.

So what are the highlights? Personally, we’re looking forward to all of the programming they’ve got in store. But some picks that stand out include Wuhan Wuhan (directed by Yung Chang), We Are As Gods (directed by David Alvardo and Jason Sussberg), and 7 Years of Lukas Graham (plus the film’s Q&A). You can check out the full festival lineup online here.
So book those passes, secure those tickets, and mark your calendars, people. North America’s largest documentary film festival is one you will not want to miss.
