Attention, adventure seekers. We’ve got a really neat winter bucket list item to add to the mix. Horne Lake Caves on Vancouver Island is a must-visit for those who enjoy exploring the great outdoors via unique, hands-on experiences. As long as you’re okay with tight spaces and the dark, of course!
The experience
Picture this: you’re deep below the earth in a cool, dark cave, with a ton of headlamp-illuminated nooks and crannies to explore. All you can hear is the rush of an underground waterfall and the ‘ooh’s’ and ‘ahh’s’ of fellow explorers.

The caves
If you’re feeling a little claustrophobic, don’t click away just yet. These caves are spacious enough for a group, so you can explore with your friends or family and still feel comfortable. While Vancouver Island has no shortage of underground caves to explore, we think that Horne Lake Caves is definitely one of the coolest.
Between subterranean waterfalls, networks of winding tunnels, and Canada’s only underground slide – this tour is definitely one for the books. Best of all? They’re offering a discount to folks who book any Achilles Challenge or Max Depth Adventure Tour by August 1st.
