What is Hope & Sesame?

Hope & Sesame is a speakeasy located in Guangzhou that has been on the scene since 2016, earning a spot in Asia’s 50 Best Bars and being named China’s Best Mainland Bar in 2023.

In 2020, the cocktail bar even earned the #79 spot in the world ranking of the Top 500 Bars.

Wondering what kind of cocktails will be served? Hope & Sesame’s menu draws inspiration from a global selection of condiments to create savoury and creative libations.

Some examples include Dark Moon with Torres Brandy, Mr Black, peanut butter, cream, Amaro Montenegro, coconut water and fish sauce and the Mifaso with Codigo Tequila, white miso, Mezcal, Verjus, cardamom and tonka.

1 Hotel Toronto pop-up

Hope & Sesame will make its appearance in Toronto hosting a pop-up, also known as a guest shift, at 1 Hotel’s Flora Lounge on March 7th and 8th.

From 7:00 PM-10:00 PM each evening, co-founders and renowned mixologists Andrew Ho and Bastien Ciocca will be serving six expertly crafted cocktails for guests to enjoy.

No need to make a reservation as the event is open for walk-ins.
