Ever craved a local brew and some delicious, fresh strudel? You’re not alone – and we’ve got the perfect watering hole for you. Born from the desire to bring people together over delicious, Slovenian strudel is the Davie Street gem, Honeybrew Bar.

Founder Scott Bressette wanted to create a space that mirrored the comfort and connection he felt with his family growing up eating his grandmother’s homemade strudel. So, he opened Honeybrew.

Sweet treats

From the classic apple, peach, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry, and strawberry strudel that started it all, to more modern flavours – Honeybrew has a strudel for everyone. Go with a classic strudel or a vegan treat from To Live For – and don’t forget to pair it with coffee.

In addition to coffee from JJ Bean Coffee Roasters, you can also build your own specialty coffee with everything from cinnamon shavings to Kahlua. Start off with your choice of espresso or drip coffee, add some liqueur (or not), and top it off with your choice of toppings.

Savoury eats

Despite the large focus (& understandably so) on perfecting the strudel recipe, Honeybrew has a ton of savoury options in the mix. Popular small plates include the chorizo mac n’ cheese, chicken & brie sandwich, and the roasted red pepper quiche. There are also chips & pico de gallo, mixed olive plates, and various hummus and veggie options if you’re in a purely snacky mood.

So, whether you’re looking to grab a morning coffee and an avocado toast, catch up with friends over lunch, or get happy hour drinks – Honeybrew is a great option.

Now, let’s get into their bevy menu. They’ve got everything from your classic mules, highballs, and coolers to their specialty Spicy Mango Margarita, Mint Swizzle, and lager from Deep Cove Brewing. If you need a new summer drink, chances are you’ll find it here.

Our recommendation? If the move is a pint, go with the Secret Beach Mango Pineapple Sour. Tastes like summer in a glass – and with a strawberry rhubarb strudel on the side, it pretty much qualifies as a staycation.

Honeybrew also has several wine offerings and Royal Jamaican ginger beer – if either is more your jam!

Happy Hour

We saved the best for last, and can you blame us? The best happy hours are the ones that happen every day – a sentiment that Honeybrew also believes in.

Happy hour is from 4 to 6 pm every day, featuring $5 highballs and 16 oz craft brews, several of their specialty cocktails for $9, and deals on their amazing flatbreads. For $12, you can get the Chicken Pesto Flatbread, Mushroom Flatbread, Spinach Artichoke Flatbread, or the Beer and Chorizo Sausage Combo.

We definitely know what our weekend plans are shaping up to be. We’ll catch you at Honeybrew, Vancouver!
