This village on an Ontario island has one of the most scenic marinas in the region

If you’re in need of a weekend escape and would absolutely love a taste of island living, you have to pay a visit to the charming St. Joseph Island and Hilton Beach.
You’ll find this island gem in the channel between Lake Huron and Lake Superior. St. Joseph Island is a little slice of paradise and it’s home to two communities — Richards Landing and Hilton Beach.
The island is linked to the mainland by a bridge, so it’s easy to get to by car.
Both villages offer a variety of great restaurants, shops, attractions, outdoor destinations, and cozy overnight accommodations, shares the town’s website.
Though Richards Landing is in the main part of the island, we’re going to focus on the small and mighty village of Hilton Beach.
Per Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association, it is a “vibrant village that has been a popular tourist destination for over a century.”
Its Hilton Beach Marina is one of the largest in the North Channel and a must-visit. Per the tourist site, it welcomes hundreds of boaters each summer.
“The full-service marina features over 160 slips and a clean/modern service building,” shares the site.
There’s also a boardwalk that follows the shoreline and is a lovely destination for a sunset stroll.
Hilton Beach is a small yet welcoming community that is perfect for a weekend trip, especially in the fall season.
Now this is an adventure we can’t wait to explore.
