A three-week music festival is coming to Toronto’s High Park this summer

Exciting things are happening at High Park this summer. For the first time, the park’s amphitheater will host a music festival with nightly concerts under the stars. High Park’s new music festival will span over three weeks starting in late June 2022.

The event, called Dream in High Park Summer Music Festival, will feature a wide range of emerging and beloved Toronto music artists including Jully Black and Ron Sexsmith, with the full lineup to be announced later this spring.

The festival is one of many events taking place in the park this summer as part of the Dream in High Park 2022 programming.

Opening the High Park amphitheater’s season is a new musical called Dixon Road, which “‘tells the story of a Somali family who immigrate to Canada in 1991 as the civil war begins to tear their homeland apart,” according to the description.

From June 23 to the 25, the Legacy Tap Dance Concert will take the stage with award-winning dancers showcasing their talents to jazz music.

And starting on July 28, Shakespeare under the stars is making its long-awaited return with a new production of As You Like It, described as “one of the Bard’s best-loved comedies.”

As You Like It is Shakespeare’s most musical play, as well as a “sparkling tale of disguise, romance, and adventure set in the forest of Arden,” making it ideal for the High Park stage. Shakespeare will run until September 4.
