Well, folks, Hollywood North is back in action this month. It turns out there are 22 productions happening around town, but we’re just going to highlight the ones that have really caught our eye. So keep those peelers, well, peeled, because you never know who you’ll see. Here’s what’s filming in Vancouver this month.

Honsla Rakh

The popular Indian actor and singer Shehnaaz Gill started shooting for her debut film last weekend. Other actors for the Punjabi film include Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa and the comedy is expected to be released sometime in October.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The sequel to 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog is kicking off in Vancouver as soon as this week! It’s going by the production name ‘Emerald Hill’, and we’re sure keen-eyed Sonic-players will remember that Emerald Hill is the first zone in the second Sonic Game.

Mixtape

This feature film will only be filming in town for a few more weeks. But the cast includes Julie Bowen, Jackson Rathbone, and Nick Thune. So we’ll bet you can catch a glimpse of this one and we’re excited to see how this one turns out in theatres. Because the film is a comedy revolving around a lost mixtape and we haven’t had a good laugh in a while.

Motherland Fort Salem – Season 2
Nancy Drew – Season 2

Pachinko

Adapted from a wildly successful novel, Pachinko is a story filled with just about everything you’d want. Apple TV is behind the production and has cast international heavyweights like South Korea’s Lee Min Ho among an expansive and impressive cast. The story will also be told in Korean, Japanese, and English, so this truly is an impressive production. If you’re really curious, you can catch them filming at The Permanent, a stunning Vancouver events venue, on March 10th and 11th.

Peacemaker

John Cena stars in this new television series which is about the DC Comics character of the same name. And it’s actually a pretty big deal because it’s the first television series set in the DC Extended Universe. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled because filming is happening until June and Mr. Cena can’t hide for the whole time.

Peter Pan (aka Bonfire)

Filming for this feature film just began this month and stars Jude Law, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, Alexander Molony, and Alyssa Wapanatâhk. So if you’re a fan of the Disney original you’ll probably be excited about this live-action version. They’ll be in town filming until June but we have a feeling most of this is being done on stages rather than around town.

Riverdale – Season 5

How could we not? We don’t need to explain what this show is to you or who is in it if you’re a fan. But season 5 will be filming in Vancouver until May. And we can almost guarantee you’ll see a few of these actors around town.

That’s what’s filming in Vancouver this month! We hope you get to see a few sets which we’re sure you will if you get out of the house this month. And some of these shows will be filming here until AUgust so we’re sure you’ll be able to catch a glimpse. Have a great week Vancouver!
