With T minus 3 weeks until the big event, the Calgary Stampede has begun dropping bigger news by the day, and folks – you’re going to love this! As promised, this year’s Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth will feature live performances under the big top of everyone’s favourite honky-tonk tent, Nashville North.
Now, although the venue will look a little different this year, their lineup is still just as impressive as always. In fact, 2021 will actually lead the way for the largest pool of artists they’ve had in history.
“It is exciting to have live music return to the stage this year,” said the Manager of Stampede Programming, Kyle Corner. “This year we are excited to put the spotlight on home-grown talent with an all-Canadian lineup of artists, making this music experience like no other.”

With nearly 40 artists gracing this year’s stage, 2021 is sure to take the cake for the safest, most organized chaos of all time.
Because Calgary is holding what might be the largest event in Canada since the beginning of the pandemic, the organization will be taking extra precautions to keep everyone happy and healthy.
Instead of holding Nashville North in their regular location, the festival will take place under a canopy next to the Grandstand to help with airflow and distancing during and between sets. In addition to this, digital queuing will be used to help minimize any lineups, capacity will be significantly limited, staff and volunteers will be tested before heading into work, sanitizer stations will be set up throughout and both guests and employees will be required to wear masks.
“In the weeks ahead, we will be making decisions according to the evolving conditions and recommendations from health experts,” they wrote in the press release. “We will post the most up-to-date information on decisions pertaining to this year’s event on our website.”
Feeling a little bit safer? We hope so – because now we’re going to get to the fun stuff.
