Well, friends, the Calgary Comic Expo is officially happening! After several cancellations, a rescheduled date or two and much anticipation, the city’s massive pop culture event will return this fall and you will not want to miss it!
This time around, though it will be different than years before, the expo will still be held on a massive scale with vendors, cosplay contests and, of course, celebrity guests. In fact, that’s what you’re probably here for!
From movies, TV, comic books, cartoons and anime, 2021’s growing list of familiar faces (and voices) is already looking pretty impressive.
Here are just a few icons that will be attending this year’s Calgary Comic Expo:
- Ron Pearlman (Hellboy)
- John Barrowman (Doctor Who)
- Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who)
- Brendan Fraser (The Mummy, Doom Patrol)
- James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

Now, as we said – this year will look a little bit different so don’t plan on getting too up close and personal with their list of guests.
Described as ‘limited edition,’ this year’s expo will have much smaller crowds and is expected to enforce cleaning and safety measures.
In addition to this, they will also devote an entire day to our health care heroes.
It all kicks off on September 10th, with complimentary admission to anyone with a valid AHS work ID, and continues on into the weekend with Calgarians able to hit the BMO just as they have in the past for a celebration of fiction, art and community.
If you’re interested in attending, we would definitely recommend purchasing your tickets now because as per AHS, only 25,000 people will be able to attend.
For more information check out their website below! We hope to see you out there, YYC! It’s going to be super.
