Covered and heated patios to check out in Seattle this winter

Summer is all about heading out to our local outdoor patios. And luckily for Seattle, patios can still be a place to go to for a bite or drink during the winter. If you haven’t checked out any heated patios yet this season, this is your sign! Here are 6 covered and heated patios in Seattle to check out this winter.

Brimmer and Heeltap

Not only does this Ballard spot serve up a delicious menu full of local ingredients, but they also have a garden patio. It’s a beautiful spot to enjoy your morning coffee at if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Dinner service is offered in the garden café Wednesday – Sunday from 4-9 pm. They also have a happy hour that runs Wednesday – Sunday from 4-5 pm, that features $2 oysters and 1/2 price wines by the glass!

Where: 425 NW Market St

The Walrus and the Carpenter

Speaking of oysters… If you’re in the mood for oysters, then you have to go to The Walrus and the Carpenter. This spot has been a long time city wide favorite for small plates, seafood, drinks and more. Their covered and heated patio will make you feel like you’re in a cottage porch in the best way possible. In addition, The James Beard Foundation announced its 2024 Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists, listing The Walrus and the Carpenter for “Outstanding Restaurant.”

Where: 4743 Ballard Ave NW

Ba Bar

We love an extended Happy Hour, and you can find that at Ba Bar. You can also find an indoor and heated patios at all three of Ba Bar’s locations. With drinks starting at $8, and food starting at $4.50, this is a perfect spot for an outdoor happy hour.

Where: 550 12th Avenue, 500 Terry Ave N, 2685 NE 46th Street

Maximilien

An outdoor experience that is a tad different can be found at Maximilien. This season, Maximilien is raising the bar on outdoor dining experiences with LE IGLOO. The “Igloo” experience is by reservation, and it’s important to know that the igloos are not heated but act more like a greenhouse – but we just had to add it to this list!

Where:81a Pike Street

Westward

You can’t say no to a waterfront patio. Westward’s is a step above the rest as it sits right on Lake Union. You’ll get to enjoy waterfront views and fresh air all while being covered and heated. Plus you’re dining on some of the city’s best food so you really can’t go wrong here. Of note, outdoor dining is available for walk-ins only.

Where: 2501 N Northlake Way

There’s something to love about each of these patios so be sure to treat yourself this winter.
