Well, folks, your favorite relatively cheap rideshare service is about to get more expensive. And before you go huffing and puffing, Uber upping their prices is actually a good thing. Because everyone deserves to make at least minimum wage right? Well if you don’t agree, it looks like you can just skip Uber and walk now.

Uber is charging about 25% more on rides now as the new Seattle minimum wage law has gone into effect. And if you thought that’s all, it’s not. Because the price could up by as much 50% by April 1st. But once again, this is the cost of ensuring that people can afford to live.

It’s no secret that Seattle is an expensive city. So if you’re hopping in an Uber daily, chances are you can afford the price increase and this isn’t anything to huff and puff about. Now there are also low-income people who depend on Uber so this issue isn’t exactly black and white. But the bottom line is, no matter what kind of work you do, you deserve to be able to live comfortably.
