With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, quarantining couples will be looking for something and somewhere new (and safe) to celebrate the year’s most loved-up holiday. Now, this time around the holiday might look a little bit different, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be special. Here are 10 of the most romantic winter date spots in Alberta that you should check out this February 14th.

Is there anything more romantic than spending time together under a blanket of stars? At the Jasper Planetarium, cozy up next to each other and join one of their astronomy guides for an in-depth exploration of constellations, meteors, and matter. Wander the beautiful grounds of the world’s largest accessible astronomy park, hear stories, and take a guided binocular tour of the milky way.

Alberta’s Nordic Spa is a romantic alpine sanctuary with views, incredible food, and amazing service.  Now, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until restrictions are lifted to enjoy a steam sesh in their Eucalyptus cabin or a dip in their pool – but you can still get massages and sit fireside! Other romantic activities in the area include Heli-tours and incredible hikes.

Boundary Ranch is a hidden gem, deep in the Rocky Mountains. Here, couples can take an incredibly scenic sleigh or dog sled ride, relax by a campfire, roast marshmallows, drink hot cocoa, and take in some fresh air before heading home. It really is THE perfect day trip excursion.
