There’s a picturesque skating pond on this North Vancouver mountaintop with panoramic views

It’s officially time to lace up, Vancouver, because you can now glide across the Lower Mainland’s only mountaintop skating pond! Just picture it – fresh mountain air, snowy trees, glimmering lights, and panoramic views. Yes, we’re talking about Grouse Mountain’s Mountaintop Skating Pond!

Now open for the 2024/2025 season, the 8,000-square-foot outdoor skating pond is the only one of its kind in the Lower Mainland, perfect for a wintery family adventure or romantic date night under the stars.

So get ready to lace up those skates and enjoy a beautiful day or night gliding under the wide-open skies, with panoramic views of the south coast.

Hours & admission

The enchanting Mountaintop Skating Pond is now open from noon to 8 pm on weekdays, and from 10 am to 8 pm on weekends.

Best of all? it doesn’t cost extra to access. So long as you have a Mountain Admission Ticket ($40 to $80 per person) or Annual Pass ($99 to $199), you’re all set!

Skate rentals are available adjacent to the pond for $10 per adult and $6 per child.

So there you have it, ice skating enthusiasts. You’ve just found one of the most scenic outdoor skating options in town – so we think multiple visits this season are in order!

Happy skating!
