This seaside resort on Vancouver Island has a grotto spa with a two-storey waterfall

If you’re looking for an incredible winter getaway in BC, then look no further than this seaside spa on Vancouver Island. Located north of Nanaimo, the award-winning spa features one of the most stunning interiors in the country, complete with a mineral pool and a two-storey waterfall. Let’s get into it.

The spa is attached to the Tigh-Na-Mara resort, but access is open to anyone who books a visit in advance. So, it could be the focus of your vacation or a nice little stop during a road trip around the Island for the holidays. Either way, you’ll be able to take full advantage of the facilities.

Grotto Spa treatments

Guests can book individual treatment sessions or full-day sessions – ranging from massages and skin and body care to their hair salon. And there are several spa packages to consider if you want to make the most of your visit.

If you’re just after a trip to the mineral pool, you can book that for $75, and gain access to the Relaxation Lounge after your dip.

And in all fairness, the pool is a huge draw for the resort. Fashioned to look like an actual grotto, the warm water mineral pool is definitely the shining star of the facility. Featuring a whirlpool and a two-storey waterfall, it’s the perfect place to forget all about the wintry weather outside.

Note that the Grotto Spa will be closed for renovations starting Sunday, January 7th and will reopen on Friday, February 16th, 2024. Aside from that, the spa is open from 9 am to 8 pm daily.

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you need some inspo for a relaxing winter getaway, this is it.
