There’s a geothermal hot spring hidden in this Washington old-growth forest

This geothermal hot spring has crystal-clear waters and an ambiance that rivals any spa you’ll find in the city – and you can get to it from Seattle, Washington!

Nestled within an old-growth forest deep in the Cascade Mountains, you’ll find a tranquil natural escape.

Goldmyer Hot Springs is a local Washington gem just 25 miles east of the city of North Bend. It’s only a short 4.5-mile hike from the trailhead to get to the backcountry springs.

Although there’s no cell phone service or internet – so make sure you have everything you need with you!

As you wind along the trails, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of old-growth forests, sparkling waterfalls, and a crystal clear geothermal hot spring to take a relaxing dip.

While there aren’t many amenities you’ll find an open-air cabana at the pools along with campsites, three maintained outhouses, two picnic tables, and a bike rack.

Getting There

“From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 34. Turn left onto 468th Street and follow it to the junction with the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Road,” they explain.

“Turn right and continue up the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Road for 11.8 miles to the large Middle Fork trailhead parking area on the right. Cross the river on the impressively large metal and wood footbridge.”

Road conditions will vary throughout the year, so make sure you check the access report before you go. There’s also a limit of 20 people per day, so look ahead and make a reservation for guaranteed entry.
