Quick trip to the Falls anyone? In an effort to inspire transit riders to explore Ontario, GO Transit introduced brand new weekend-only deals that allow you to go from Toronto to as far as Niagara Falls for just $10 starting in May.

From Victoria Day weekend until Thanksgiving weekend, GO Transit will run from Union Station to Niagara Falls and back three times daily on weekends and holidays. The 12-car trains can hold up to 18 bicycles too.

There are two pass options to choose from — $10 One-Day and $15 Weekend. The passes grant you access to the entire GO system for just one flat fee, meaning you can hop from city to city without stopping if you wanted to.

The single-day pass can be used on either a Saturday, Sunday, or statutory holiday. The $15 pass is valid all weekend long, including holidays.

Here’s how to get your pass. Select your station of origin and your destination, then select which weekend pass option you’d like to buy.

Then you can expect to see the online pass in your email inbox, which you can pull up on your phone. Be sure to activate it five minutes before boarding, and off you go!

It’s also worth noting that you can only buy this pass on GO Transit’s website. It’s not available at stations or via PRESTO.

You might not even realize just how extensive the GO Transit network is. According to the map, it extends all the way north to the Allandale Waterfront in Barrie, practically touching Lake Simcoe. It also takes you as far east as Peterborough, as far west as Waterloo, and southwest directly to the Falls.

Torontonians have so many cheap travel options to choose from right now. VIA Rail is having a deal on train trips to Montreal for just $49, and you can bus to New York City and back for much cheaper than a plane ticket.

And if you snap up a weekend pass to Niagara, be sure to use Ontario’s staycation tax credit to get 20% back on your accommodations.
