One of our favourite seasons has arrived, and with it comes a new month. Hopefully, April will bring sunny skies and warm weather to Seattle! And with that, we can’t wait wait to see our cherry blossoms bloom. April brings some outdoor festivities and fairs, as we welcome warm seasons. It doesn’t have to cost much to enjoy what the new season brings. Here are the best cheap and free things to do in and around Seattle this April!

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Washington’s most iconic tulip festival is back this April with unique displays taking place at four different farms across the Skagit Valley.

Immerse yourself in an endless kaleidoscope of colors as you wander through endless rows of vibrant blooms. And don’t forget to take home a hand-picked bouquet from your visit!

Moisture Festival

The Moisture Festival is back in a big way this year! Enjoy high-energy comedy/varieté shows, all accompanied by a live show band. Aerialists, acrobats, jugglers, physical comedians, clowns, magicians, dancers, musicians, and burlesque artists are just the beginning!

Workout Wednesdays

Fitness-focused Seattleites attending Workout Wednesdays, this is the last month to enjoy it! The classes are drop in so there’s no need to book ahead, and it all wraps up on April 3rd.

Free 1st Thursday Public Tour

The Washington Park Arboretum hosts free public tours on the first Thursday of each month. So kick off your March walking through seasonal themes, collections plants, and learn about the history of the organization.

Volunteer Park Conservatory

Get some spring feels before spring! The Volunteer Park Conservatory is open year-round and is full of beautiful tropical plants. It’s a great place to stroll with a date and enjoy a little peace and quiet in one of Seattle’s best parks.

Besides its usual $6 entrance, there are free days at the Park and they are on the 1st Thursdays and 1st Saturdays of each month.

Taco Libre Truck Showdown

Seattle Night Market is bringing the Taco Libre Truck Showdown this April. It will feature an array of taco trucks, margarita bar, a illuminated night market, and captivating high-flying wrestling performances by Lucha Libre Volcánica.

Washington State Fair 2024

The Washington State Spring Fair will be taking over the grounds at Puyallup for another year, kicking off on April 11th, and visitors can enjoy all their fair favorites like live entertainment, delicious food, wild rides, adorable animals, and boozy pit stops.

On Thursday, April 11th and Thursday, April 18th, kids aged 0-18 can get in to the fair for free.

As well, you can get free parking in any official Fair parking lot on Thursday, April 11th, as well as April 18th.

If you want to get in for free on opening day, on Thursday, April 11th from 2 to 10 PM, you can bring a non-perishable food donation for the Puyallup Food Bank and receive free admission. No coupon required!

Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival

The Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival, which is coming back this April.

Besides seeing the blooms, attendees can expect a vibrant and colorful celebration that features a range of activities and performances that showcase Japanese art, culture, and traditions.

Tulip Festival Street Fair

The 40th annual Tulip Festival Street Fair takes place at the historic Downtown Mount Vernon, and it will be a long weekend of art, music, and festivities. There will also be 140+ artisan vendors!

Spring Foodie Fest

The Spring Foodie Fest returns! According to organizers, it was created “to celebrate all the delicious food of Seattle. Our purpose is to create an event where pop-ups, small business owners, and the community can come together and celebrate food from all over Seattle.”

You can expect great food options, crafted retail items, DJ spinning, & drinks pouring.

Free Entrance Day in the National Parks

The National Park Services sites will have free admission on select days, including one this April. On April 20, you can visit National Parks for free for the “First day of National Park Week.”

Discover Pass Free Days

Washington State Parks typically has several “free days” each year, and 2024 is no exception. On these select days, visitors can access state parks without requiring a Discover Pass, which is usually required for vehicle access to state recreation lands. This allows visitors to explore the natural beauty of the parks at no cost! One of those days is in April, celebrating Earth Day.

Seattle Boba Fest
