There’s an enchanted grotto hidden under a charming Alberta hotel

Alberta is full of surprises, mystery, and wildlife, but there are few destinations quite like the Fox Hotel and Suites in Banff.

Located only minutes from hikes, luxurious restaurants, and charming little shops, this vacation destination has a courtyard, spacious rooms and what just might be Wild Rose Country’s coolest hot tub.

The enchanted grotto

Think you’ve seen it all? If you’re a spa fanatic or a tranquillity titan, you definitely haven’t lived until you’ve checked out the Fox Hotel.

Modelled after one of Banff’s coolest historical sites, this relaxation destination actually has its very own grotto, which is truly unlike anything else in the area.

Considered by many to be the birthplace of Canada’s national parks, the Cave and Basin is a place where people gather and connect over conservation and nature.

Here, visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits, short films, seasonal activities, views of the Rocky Mountains, and the underground hot pool itself.

With bright blue water and rugged walls, the hotel’s grotto is almost a replica of the magical cave which cannot be swam in.

Want to check it out?

Go for a swim and or enjoy the ambiance from the rocks.

They’ve done an incredible job recreating the oasis, even going so far as to open the roof to let the “natural elements filter down.”

While there, guests can also check out the sauna, a fitness room, and bring their pets, so check in and wind down!

The Fox Hotel is fun, photogenic and incredibly unique to Alberta.

Enjoy!
