These Ontario hotels and spas are 2026 Forbes Travel Guide Star Award Winners

Forbes Travel Guide has unveiled its 2026 Star Award Winners, an annual list that features the world’s most luxurious hotels, restaurants, and spas. In its 68th year, over 15 Ontario hotels, spas, and restaurants have earned their stars.

The independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, and cruise ships released this year’s winners last week. It’s the hospitality industry’s most prestigious achievement, and only a few thousand locations in the world make the cut.

Forbes Travel Guide methodology

According to the travel guide, highly trained inspectors visit every rated property and are then evaluated based on up to 900 objective criteria.

On top of that, the team pays their way through the experience – nothing is gifted. All the ratings are earned through an objective inspection process.

In order to ensure authenticity, all the inspectors are anonymous and have the same experience as any typical guest.

“While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel. restaurant or spa goes beyond looks – how it makes you feel is what you will remember most,” shares organizers.

That being said, only a handful of Ontario’s most luxurious experiences were added to the list. Five were awarded five stars, nine were awarded four stars, and four were added to their recommended list. Only one of the winners is located outside of Toronto.

Here are Toronto’s 2026 Star Award Winners:

5 Stars

The five-star rating is given to properties that “deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.”

4 Stars

A four-star rating is given to “exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.”

Recommended

A recommended rating is given for “excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.”

Once again, Toronto never fails to disappoint! And it looks like the Forbes Travel Guide agrees.

Congratulations to all the winners.
