Ghouls’ Night Out is taking over Heritage Park in Calgary this month, giving you a chance to dress up, explore the park after hours, and get into the Halloween spirit. Over three days, you can meet the Alberta Ghostbusters, browse the Halloween Market, decorate cookies, and catch live theatre throughout the Historical Village.
And if you’re looking for a night without the kids, there will also be an adults-only evening on Thursday, Oct. 22.
With so much happening around the park, here’s a closer look at what to expect at Ghouls’ Night Out.
Over the three-day event, a variety of Halloween activities will take place across the park, along with four live theatre productions running in the evening, with multiple showtimes to choose from.
Here’s a look at all the activities you can do at Ghouls’ Night Out:
There will also be four Halloween-themed theatre performances running every night. Each show has multiple performances, so you can pick and choose which ones you want to see.
Frankenstein and the Monster will be at the Canmore Opera House, while the Halloween Royal Rumble will take place in the greenspace between Town Hall and the Alberta Bakery.
You can also catch Still Ghostbusting at the Prince House Lawn or Scooby-Doo and the Enchanted Amulet at the Blacksmith Shop.
On Oct. 23 and 24, performances run from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m., and on Oct. 25 the schedule starts a bit earlier, from 3:45 to 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Oct. 22, Heritage Park is hosting the Carnival of Curiosities, an adults-only night running from 6 to 10 p.m. During the carnival, you can sip cocktails, walk through the haunted house, or get a reading from tarot and palm readers.
Heritage Park says Ghouls’ Night Out will proceed rain or shine, and guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Since part of the event takes place outdoors, check the weather before you head out and dress accordingly.
Ghouls’ Night Out is happening over three nights, from Friday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 24, and on the final night, Oct. 25, from 3 to 7 p.m.
According to Heritage Park, admission is $24.95 plus GST for guests 16 and older, and $18.95 plus GST for children ages 3 to 15. Heritage Park Members and VIPs can also receive 15% off.
All tickets are non-refundable and unfortunately can’t be transferred to a future date.
Heritage Park is located in southeast Calgary along the Glenmore Reservoir. If you’re driving, on-site paid parking is available. Daytime parking is $13 for the first seven hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and evening parking is $8 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The ParkPlus Zone number is 8320, and you can pay at the machines near the front admission gate or through the ParkPlus app.
If you’re taking transit, four Calgary Transit routes can get you to the park, and all of them stop at the foot of the parking lot, about a five-minute walk from the entrance.
You can take Route 402 from Heritage CTrain Station, which operates from May through October, or Route 20, which runs between Heritage Station and Northmount Drive.
In addition to Ghouls’ Night Out, Heritage Park will host several other spooky events throughout October, including ghost tours, outdoor escape rooms, and Halloween-themed afternoon tea sessions.
