Let’s start with the two beaches in the park. The main beach is located in the day-use area with lots of parking and a comfort station. Spend the day along the shores of the main beach for some peace and quiet.

The camper’s beach is located in Two Rivers Campground and is more suited for families with small children!

According to Ontario Parks, this park is also home to a century-old White Pine forest and a stand of 200-year-old Bur Oak.

Start your forest exploring via one of the two park trails.

The Carp Trail is a one-kilometre loop that follows the Carp River through the forest. The trail has a boardwalk and a soft forest floor making it easy to walk and enjoy.

The second trail is called The Terrace Trail and is a little bit longer at two kilometres and takes you on “a geological journey.”

“You’ll pass massive boulders strewn about by glaciers and shale pillars carved out by ancient waterways. In the spring and early summer months, you’ll also skirt the edge of a beautiful waterfall,” says Ontario Parks.

If you’re heading to Fitzroy for the day you’ll need to grab a day pass/vehicle pass which starts at $12.25.

Happy exploring!
