Vancouver’s FIFA World Cup brand was just revealed & here’s what to know

Last year, Vancouver was confirmed as one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joining 15 other cities across North America.

And according to the city of Vancouver, each of the 16 host cities will showcase its own unique brands for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Vancouver’s design was just revealed on Thursday, May 18th, and it features the vibrant, nature-inspired colours of the mountains and water that surround us.

Starting May 18th and leading up to the 2026 games, Vancouverites and visitors will be able to see brand visuals across the city.

“As we prepare to kick off the FIFA World Cup in 26, we’re incredibly excited to showcase Vancouver to the world. Our city’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and long history of supporting sports and major events will make the World Cup a truly unforgettable experience,” says Mayor Ken Sim. “The launch of this brand is just the beginning — we invite all those across the city, province, and country to join us in the excitement of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

2026 games info

The 2026 games mark the first time Canada has hosted more than qualifying matches for the global tournament. All in all, Canadians can expect to see 104 matches played across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.

Naturally, the matches in Vancouver will be played at BC Place, which has a capacity of around 54,000 fans.

“It is so exciting to have the opportunity to host this incredible event in B.C.,” says Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. “This brand launch serves as an important milestone, as we start counting down the days to the tournament. Hosting will allow us to profile and promote BC as a prime destination like no other, boosting tourism activity throughout the province for years to come.”

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will generate over $1 billion for BC’s tourism industry, according to preliminary data by Destination BC and BC Stats. What’s more, the games could draw an incremental 900,000 additional visitors to the province.

So there you have it, Vancouver. We’ve still got three years ahead of us before the games arrive, but this is an exciting step nonetheless!
