A three-day Filipino festival with food, live music, and entertainment is coming to Scarborough this May, and here’s everything you need to know.

Bringing the flavours of the Philippines to the east end, Fiesta De Mayo kicks off May 26 to 28, with a goal to showcase “the beauty and diversity of many cultures” as they celebrate the arrival of spring.

Located on the Street Eats lot in Scarborough, the three-day event will include Santacruzan, a cultural dance parade, day & night market, a band festival, tribal street dances, and family entertainment throughout the day

Though they’re still in the beginning stages of setting the festival up, they currently have more than 70 spots for vendors from food to small items, to participate.

“Fiesta de Mayo was conceptualized with the small business owners and people with cabin fever in mind,” shares organizers. “The month of May is not too cold as it is heading towards the summer season so it is just perfect to hold an outdoor event.”

According to their Eventbrite listing, you must buy tickets to attend the event either online or in-person. But it might be a good idea to buy them ahead of time to avoid potential lineups.

And we’ll make sure to keep you updated once more information comes out.
