September was the month to celebrate Italian heritage and culture in Seattle. The city had not one but two festivals, the first was San Gennaro Festival and now Festa Italiana! Festa is taking over Seattle Center with its 36th annual festival this weekend. Here’s what to expect.

Festa Italiana takes place Saturday, September 23rd and Sunday, September 24th. It’s a celebration of Italians and Italian-Americans in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll experience arts, food and culture that are uniquely Italian.

The Seattle Center event is the culmination of the festival and where you’ll find the most action and fun.

Events happening include Italian cooking demonstrations, the Festa Grape Stomp, a Bocce Tournament, children’s activities, a historical photo collection, a contemporary art exhibition, and an Italian Classic Vehicle Show. Concurrently, there will be three stages with music and performing arts.

What makes this festival extra great is the fact that it’s entirely free to attend. Keep in mind food and drinks are an additional cost but there’s plenty to do and see that doesn’t cost a thing. With that, enjoy!
