Family Day Long weekend is almost always special. But this year, it’s going to be even more so. Because BC’s largest fandom celebration, aka, FAN EXPO Vancouver is making a grand return.
The epic event is taking place on family day long weekend from Saturday, February 18th to Monday, February 20th, 2023. For three whole days, the Vancouver Convention Centre will transform into the ultimate pop-culture playground for sci-fi, horror, anime, cosplay and gaming fans.
Here’s what you can expect from this year’s Expo—
The event is your gateway to meeting your favourite celebrities, cosplayers, voice actors and comic creators IRL. Think names like Dante Basco, Sean Astin, Jason Fabok, Ashley Eckstein and many more. Get pics clicked with them, get your stuff signed and discover more about them during celeb QnAs.
One of the absolute best parts of FAN EXPO is that you can channel your favourite character through costumes. Just like many others will be doing here. There’s going to be a cosplay red carpet and the 2023 FAN EXPO Vancouver Cosplay Craftsmanship Cup!
Whether you want to get in on a tabletop game, attend a ‘how to play’ session or simply want to partake in a panel discussion for more insight, the FAN EXPO has you covered all the way. In addition to gaming activities, there are also panel discussions, demos, workshops and competitions across all segments of the expo.
We are particularly excited about the Sketch Duels. It’s way up there with the Cosplay Craftsmanship Cup.
There are always family-friendly activities but the Expo seems to have upped its family-friendly programming in honour of the weekend itself. There’s plenty to keep the little ones happy and entertained. Expect a kids’ cosplay competition, combat demo, science shows, rock music petting zoo (yes, that’s a thing), craft zone and tons more.
Of course, there’s a lot for you to snag. From autographs of your fave celebs to exclusive pop figures to games to that of comic books, the exhibitor centre is full of collectables worth shelving.
