A popular Edmonton food truck just opened a permanent outpost

You might have seen them around town and not had time to stop in, or watched them drive away in pain, like seeing the ice cream truck as a kid. Whatever the case, know that El Mero Mero has opened a new permanent outpost in Edmonton, following their initial success as a food truck!

Originally starting under the name El Santo back in 2021, the brand had to change its name to El Mero Mero earlier this year due to some trademark issues. One thing that stayed the same though? A wide range of delicious Mexican tacos (including their birria option) and some tasty treats to go with them.

However, the new restaurant opening also means a serious expansion of their offerings! Now, you’ll be able to try everything from tamales to queso fundido to enchiladas, alongside their full range of tacos. Know the other bonus of opening a restaurant? Being able to add some more, ahem, adult beverages to the menu.

Maybe the best part of all of this, though, is that it opens today! That’s right, starting on Thursday, June 30th, you can go check out this brand new addition to Edmonton’s food scene. We can’t wait to do so ourselves!

El Mero Mero

When: Opens Thursday, June 30th
Where: 12223 156 Street NW
