Ready to get a little weird this month? Then the upcoming Edmonton Fringe Festival is just what you need. North America’s largest fest of its kind is back next week, and will be offering 11 straight days of fringe-y fun! Here’s a quick rundown on what to expect.
Pulling talent from all over the world, the Fringe Fest will be setting up shop in a whopping 27 different venues, and offers over 160 shows for people to check out. The lineup ranges from the silly (like a one-man version of Back to the Future), to the serious (a modern retelling of the Myth of Narcissus). But, you’ll find a lot more of the former than the latter.

Alongside the indoor options, the festival will also feature a wide variety of outdoor shows as well. These are a little more fantastic-focused, with circus performers, acrobats, magicians and more all set to wow their audiences. And, while tips are most definitely encouraged, these shows will be free for anyone to check out!
Speaking of free, this year’s festival is kicking things off with a free Street Party on August 10th! Head down to McIntyre Park to enjoy live music (including a performance from The Halluci Nation), as well as food and drink options to keep you hydrated and well-fed while you’re there.
In a nutshell, this year’s Fringe Fest is for a whole lot more than just the, well, nuts among us! Make sure to check it out!
