There’s a scenic trail leading to a lookout atop a giant cliff in Ontario

It’s time to explore more of Ontario’s wonderful outdoors! Need some inspiration? Here’s a thrilling hiking trail through the woods that leads to a stunning cliff. We’re talking about the Eagle’s Nest Lookout trail.

Your adventure begins in the Township of Greater Madawaska. Eagle’s Nest Lookout trail is right off Calabogie Road and is about a four-hour drive north of Toronto.

Though hefty, it’s worth the adventure.

About Eagle’s Nest Lookout trail

Eagle’s Nest Lookout trail is part of the 9 km long Manitou Mountain trail. It leads to three spectacular mountaintop vistas.

Though the trail does branch off in parts, if you park off of Calabogie Road (6573), it’ll only take you about 20 minutes to reach Eagle’s Head.

If you’re up for the challenge, according to the resort, embark along the Eagle’s Nest Trail – a challenging three-hour trail to the lookout if you start at the Calabogie Peaks Resort.

Up for more trekking? You can hike up the Ole K&P ski trail and hop on from the Manitou Mountain Trail for a challenging 8 km adventure. Or you can also take the Skywalk Trail for a shorter, challenging start.

Another option is parking near the scenic Little Pine Path to get to the Eagles Nest Lookout faster.

Enjoy the view atop a 120-metre cliff and set your eyes on the wonderful fall views Ontario is known for. And as always, take every precaution as you embark on this adventure. Don’t get too close to the edge.

Grab your camera and start the car. Your next adventure awaits.
