Cozied in the Muskokas is a small village you may have missed if it wasn’t on your radar but now that it is, you’re going to want to check it out. Dwight, Ontario is an adorable area with lots to offer especially if you love the outdoors.
The village boasts the jaw-dropping Oxtongue Rapids, a natural spectacle that draws in the likes of artists and photographers from all around.

Dwight is located along Lake of Bays in the Muskoka region.
Driving from Toronto will take around three hours on the dot. According to Discover Muskoka, the village is referred to as the “Gateway to Algonquin Park”.
To its core, Dwight is a place that takes pride in staying local.

Cedar Creek gift shop is a perfect place to pick up home goods and trinkets while Erika’s, a family-owned and operated bakery and gift shop, serves up award-winning delights.
Time to head over to the Oxtongue Rapids Hiking Trail for unbelievable fall views.
The trail to the rapids is two kilometres east of Highway 60 and Highway 35 and is considered an easy hike at one kilometre each way in length.
The path will take you right to the Oxtongue Rapids but just be careful and the rocks along the rapids can get quite slippery.
