Canada’s largest outdoor stage is in Alberta and it has a breathtaking view

From Waterton to High Level, Wild Rose Country is an incredibly diverse province. With bustling cities, quiet lake towns, and magical mountain escapes, there’s no shortage of places, people, or things that’ll surprise tourists and locals alike.

One of those incredibly unique locations? The Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller, an Alberta nonprofit with an impressive view.

Lights, music, action

Alberta is one of the very few places where you can visit a glacier and  12-metre tall sand dunes on the same weekend, but not adding Drumheller to your hit list would be a disservice.

Here, you can hike the hoodoos, visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum, sightsee from the mouth of the world’s largest dinosaur, and take in a show from Canada’s largest outdoor stage.

With room to seat 2,500 people, this magnificent venue has hosted live theatre shows, outdoor movies, opera singers, and rock legends.

In fact, this summer you can attend their Great Big Weekend, which will feature Amanda Marshall, Jann Arden, and Alan Doyle.

Want to check it out?

It won’t be long until there’s even more to do on the grounds.

“The Badlands Amp will soon be home to the Badlands Arts Centre and Studio,” they explain on their website.

“A two-story 14,000 square foot indoor creative and event space that will include a 2500 square foot studio space.”

This new addition will have a new performance space, a patio, a professional kitchen, and even more rehearsal and event space for smaller productions.

In the meantime, this beautiful destination is calling, and with so many exciting shows coming up, you’ll want to answer.

It’s unlike anything else, so choose your experience and get your tickets now.

Enjoy and happy watching.
