Over 150 sites will be open to explore for FREE in Toronto soon

Doors Open Toronto kicks off later this May and it’s your chance to explore hundreds of buildings that are usually closed to the public. Eager to find out which sites you can check out? Keep on reading.

The overall event, Doors Open Ontario, includes cities across the province that will unlock doors to all kinds of buildings, spaces, and sites that are either private or you normally have to pay to enter.

You can explore the inside of the iconic cenotaph clock tower in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a real-life heritage village, an old two-story firehouse and so much more, all for free.

As for Toronto, there are about 150 locations available to explore. The City of Toronto has an interactive map where you can filter down the buildings available based on the day you chose to take part in the event.

Many destinations also offer special experiences in addition to free access, including walking tours, interactive experiences, special exhibitions, and more.

  • JUNO Awards & MusiCounts Office
  • Buddies in Bad Times Theatre
  • Textile Museum of Canada
  • Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library

  • Fort York National Historic Site
  • 401 Richmond Ltd.
