Toronto is home to world-renowned restaurants and one of its most upscale Italian eateries just received a huge nod from Italy. Award-winning, contemporary fine dining spot Don Alfonso 1890 was named one of the best Italian restaurants in the world.

The prestigious 50 Top Italy award winners are out and Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto was awarded second place in the Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2023 category.

Though a drop from last year’s first-place win, Don Alfonso was the only Canadian restaurant to be recognized in the top ten.

However, there is one other Canadian restaurant that made the top 50 and that’s Cioppino’s in Vancouver. The dining establishment was ranked in 33rd place.

First place winner was Da Vittorio in Shanghai, China, and Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Tokyo, Japan in third.

Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto is located on the 38th floor of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at 1 Harbour Square.
